Blacksburg Fire Department Training Grounds Burn Building

Montgomery County has authorized a proposed burn building funded by the Department of Fire Programs to be built on the Blacksburg Fire Department Training Grounds in Merrimac.

The burn building will allow for live fire training exercises in a controlled environment. It will be a major component of a total build out of the new training facility. A flash-over simulator has also been granted, a vehicle extrication area established, a ventilation simulator built, and a classroom facility which was existing at the time the property was acquired.

We look forward to breaking ground soon on this most important project.
